January 28th, 2012

It really is hard work here at Holebrook, counting the piglets, impossible! they keep hiding under the straw. putting the donkeys out, impossible! they just stand and gawk at me. Putting the horses out, impossible! cant keep up with those critters. feeding the chooks, impossible! they can fly as well as run! and those beaks, freaky!!!! Sharing breakfast with the other kids, impossible! they`re just food freaks! Guess today just became impossible, so i`ll just wait for my Dad, he know`s how to get rid of the ” im ” and make it possible.

Gen Dot & Rew

November 22nd, 2011

on our way home after a good days nutting

With the late Autumn, the acorns are taking awhile to fall, so the Kune Kune pigs have spent a few weeks foraging for them, in the picture, Gen, Dot and Rue are making they`re way back home across one of our fields to the ark where there may be a few treats!!! They have done a great job, keeping the chance of poisoning of other livestock to the absolute minimum.

Update from Holebrook

October 20th, 2011

Autumn has arrived here at Holebrook, winter coats appearing on the horses, sun taking longer to rise and a chill in the air. We have let the Kune Kune pigs out to roam over the farm, they are fantastic hoovers for acorns and leave the paddocks clean and safe for the horses and Donkeys to graze. We love our oak trees but the bi product (acorns) are very toxic. Hedge rows are all now trimmed, next task for us is to spread manure over the paddocks, hope the wind dosn`t get up!!!!!
